Located on the grounds of the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia, MO.

According to historian Lt. Col. Manuel A. Conley, originally the state’s Capitol Museum in Jefferson City was to permanently exhibit the car, but the building was a foot too short for the boxcar.

That landed it in prison -- inside the walls of the Jefferson County State Penitentiary to be exact.

There it sat for nearly a year, until the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the Forty & Eight Society sponsored its move to the fairgrounds at Sedalia.
