Train of Tomorrow
Proposed Pullman
Baggage-Dorm

When the Train of Tomorrow was first on Pullman's drawing boards, it had a fifth car.

The car was to be a matching baggage-dormitory for the train's staff and crew. It was drawn up as Pullman Lot 8604, Plan 7564.

The car wasn't drawn up with a position for a name plate, so it would likely have remained unnamed.

The car would have provided sleeping quarters for 18 people. It was canceled in late 1946, before construction began.

Ultimately, the train did need a fifth car for support, and that job fell to the Blue Goose.

Blueprints and floorplans for all five matching cars can be found in the 1995 book The Official Pullman-Standard Library Vol 16, by W. David Randall and William G. Anderson.
