Auto-Train switching locomotive # 621 was one of several auto-train locomotives to be give a proper name -- "Gene", after the founder of the corporation, Eugene K. Garfield.

Eugene was an attorney, but Gene was a Baldwin S12 built in May 1952, builder's number 75674, ex-EL #621, ex-Erie #621.
